Quick Start Challenge 2014 – My First Video

Well, I have made my first video as a challenge of The Quick Start Challenge 2014. You can watch the video here below.

https://youtu.be/KoURkxtv7BE?si=EKvN2hcgvys0RZZc

Making this video was not as hard as I thought.  It took me just 2 takes to make it as you see above.  I do have some points that I have to work on.

One of those points is, looking straight into the camera.  I was reading the text of this video from a Word document, so the next time I will have to memorize the text or place the text above the camera.

I remember a fellow student in another coaching program saying that he uses an app called Teleprompter to read text while looking straight into the camera.

I will have to look into this and see if it will work for me.

Meanwhile, I would appreciate your comments on my first video of the Quick Start Challenge.

  1. Hi Frank,

Good to see a fellow PTS member doing this course as well.

    It’s a nice video Frank.

I particular liked the way you included a beginning and an end to it. I must learn how to do that.

Overall, well done and I’m glad to see you’re back.

    Keep up the good work.

    Guy

    1. Hi Guy,

There are others PTS members doing this course also which is a good thing.

I use the standard video editing program that comes with windows, Movie Maker.
For us beginners it is easy to use and has some great features like adding a begin and a end to the video. I used it als to record my video.

  2. Great job Frank with the video.

Thanks for the tip in preparing a text doc to read during recording. I’m going to use that technique on my next video.

I agree with looking at the camera. I have that same issue. Maybe I should put the text doc at the top of my screen just under the camera to help with that.

Also, I’m going to hide the camera’s view that shows me. It’s strange talking to myself. Maybe I’ll put a picture of somebody above the camera to give me the feeling I’m talking to someone other than myself

    1. Hi Darren,

It is a strange feeling talking to yourself on camera. Still a lot of learning to do when it comes to creating videos, but in due time we will master this too.

  3. Hi Frank,
I really enjoyed your video and you honesty. Good for you!Glad to see the things you are doing. I have thought about product development myself but am currently working on a social media service.
Happy to be sharing with you through the Quick Start Challenge. Btw, your English is fine 🙂

    1. Thanks Nicholas,

It’s best to work on one thing at a time. Work on your Social media service, and when it’s up and running, you can always come back to create a product.

Enjoy sharing with you through the Quick start challenge

  4. Hello Frank:

I look forward to learning about your product launch. Can you tell me what it is? In another program I got stuck there, and still haven’t figured out exactly how to express my expertise in a form that would be helpful to the my target audience. I don’t find your expression or language on the video a problem at all–you communicate well. The best to you. Anne

    1. Hi Anne,

My product is about providing a beginner in IM the basic information he or she needs to get started online. I’ve nearly finished an eBook and need to create instruction videos that go with the eBook. All this needs to go into a membership site along with some bonuses.

In a product you can create an eBook with what you think will help your target audience. You can also create videos that go along with the eBook. You also can create audio for those that wish to listen. These are the three forms that most products are made up of, text, video and audio. The video files, you can also deliver in a form that is also viewable on Ipad, iphone ect.

I hope that this helps a bit.

      – Frank
